Posted in Uncategorized by yeahsnos on March 25, 2008

I am currently making a powerpoint presentation on public art and griffiti and I found some really interesting graffiti from iran. It is certainly emerging in Tehran and my cousin himself used to be a part of it.Here is a group of Iranian Street Artists called  ICEPUNKZ

I’ve known the ice rink for a long time and I never knew what it was called, and now that I am doing a presentation on Public Art (featuring Maya Lin) I have found out that the name of the project is “Ecliptic”It is absolutely beautiful. I admire her dearly.

I probably already have some of his works, but I am going to include even more.

http://blog.pavelroder.com/upload/kengokuma3.jpg  The teahouse does not rise up from the ground as a fixed wooden construction, but unfolds as an airborne form. When a ventilation system is activated, the teahouse swells into shape like a white high-tech textileblossom. In its interior, comprising a surface of approximately twenty square metres, are nine tatami mats, an electric stove for the water kettle, a tokonoma niche and a preparation room. Integrated LED technology allows the use of the teahouse at night; the interior can be heated by way of the membrane.  and more stuff: kkaa1-1.jpg

What I am missing out on…

DESIGN

AND THE ELASTIC MIND :

M   O   M   A    This makes me want to cry. BEE’S, Prototype, 2007, by Susana Soares Narco from the Analeptic project, prototype, 2006, by Marie-Virginie Berbet  Dressing the Meat of Tomorrow, concept, 2006, by James King O Oxygen Generator from the Elements project, prototype, 2006, by Mathieu Lehanneur O Oxygen Generator from the Elements project, prototype, 2006, by Mathieu Lehanneur

this is actually supposed to be placed at a cafe I visited in Paris, however the cafe was under construction, and they had not placed the “O”

A veritable domestic breathing machine, O generates pure oxygen in the home. In big towns, oxygen levels are 90^ lower than those required by our bodies under optimal conditions. Using an oximeter sensor, O constantly monitors the oxygen level in the air, and when it detects that this level is insufficient, it instantly activates the microorganisms it contains, Spirulina Platensis – a living organism with the highest yield in terms of oxygen production – and a light that favors spirulin photosynthesis. This emits native oxygen, which is diffused into the surroundings. As soon as the air oxygen level has returned to optimum, thelight and agitation are interrupted and the spirulin falls back to the bottom of the container.

interior design of flood restaurants by mathieu lehanneur

Interior design of Flood Restaurants by Mathieu Lehanneur

Date : 2007Materials : Blown glass, steel, plastic coating, acrylic,

spirulina.Client : FLOOD

Location:- 58 rue de Chateaudun 75009 Paris- 1 rue Casanova 75001 Paris

Scenario :

  • Offer global food, that is to say as much in the plate as in the quality of the air. An aquarium is placed in the centre of each area containing over 100 litres of Spirulina Platensis (micro-algae). By photosynthesis, these micro-algae produce pure oxygen which replenishes the rate which is always too insufficient in big cities.
  • Develop a furniture flooding principle on the chairs and tables by dip coating the PVC.
  • Show the modified air, oxygen enriched by the blown glass lamp designs.

ok now back to MOMA : and now this one, I have seen a long time ago, and I cannot believe! that I was not there for it. Its really sweet!
Shadow Monsters, 2004–ongoing, by Philip Worthington  video projected: you move your hands making movements, and you see it on the wall as monsters and creatures!    With a Little Help of the Bees vase, prototype, 2006, by Tomáš Gabzdil Libertny   there is soooo much more, which i will include in the near future.
